Modernizing an Collective Action Platform

JouleBug is an employee engagement platform that educates and mobilizes users to take individual action toward sustainability goals. It is geared toward businesses as a means of change management for employees but has also been implemented in universities, non-profits, and community groups. This platform is internally owned and operated by Carimus.

App Improvements

I recently completed a full audit of the JouleBug mobile application which resulted in a big upgrade to the accessibility of the app. Brand colors were refreshed slightly to allow better contrast ratios using the ACPA contrast method, text sizes were adjusted, and design changes were made to improve readability of actions and challenges.

Dashboard Features

During my time at JouleBug our main focus has been putting more power in the hands of organization administrators. As such, I’ve lead the team to create many new features on the admin dashboard that allow admins more options in running challenges, analyzing data, and managing members.

Website Refresh

During a 2 day sprint, the JouleBug team was tasked with redesigning our marketing website. As the sole designer on the JouleBug team I worked collaboratively with our developer and product owner to quickly ideate and develop the new look and feel.

Marketing Materials

I created various marketing graphics and sales materials for JouleBug ranging from social posts and newsletters to one-pagers and case studies.

Custom Actions

In addition to various design projects, I acted as a customer success manager for JouleBug. During this time I helped JouleBug administrators create custom actions from our backend which included customized icons and imagery for each action alongside strategy and copywriting for the action details.
